The mouthpiece is fantastic, with a light attack, a good response, and a full tone in the entire range. I realize that this is personal, but anyway, it is working for me, as hoped.

This is the second of these mouthpieces that I have purchased. The design seems to work very well right across the whole range of pitches and dynamics. I am really pleased that I swapped over to this design during Lockdown.

The 4 challenges and builds my strength, because of it's size, but has amazing clarity and warmth of tone. It comforts me to know that it just works and I can rely on this mouthpiece for everything shy of demanding pieces in the high register. I absolutely recommend this series of mouthpieces.

I play in a community orchestra, usually first horn. I was using a DW/Paxman #4, but during this Covid shutdown I have been practicing at home using a DW/Paxman #2, which seems to give an even bigger sound, while still maintaining a very good high register. I used to play trombone, so perhaps that is why I can handle such a big horn mouthpiece. I think that the #2 should be fine for almost everything, except perhaps for very high horn parts in Handel or Bach.

An excellent mouthpiece for clarifying the lower range for 4th horns. A marked increase in power but needs more lip strength to play higher range.
