4* for merchandise. The practice mute is works well. With the earphones (or cheap headphones) and the Silent Brass "studio" it sounds very tinny. Today I have borrowed some good headphones, and the tone is completely different - still not as 'real' as Yamaha suggest, but a much better timbre. Explains varied reviews. If you don't have any already you may need to spend another £250 on headphones to get this effect. Not sure if it is worth it.
